How Can I Get Involved?
Since the Co-op's founding in 2009, nearly 600 people have bought shares in Wasatch Cooperative Market. These founding member-owners provide the financial base and vision of our full-service grocery store. Becoming a member-owner is the most important step you can take toward our development.
Helping to get the word out is equally critical, and we can only do it with your help.
There are a number of ways to do this, see the 'Outreach Toolkit' below. You can also download this Tabling Toolkit to assist you!

5. Post a flyer
7. Host a party
The Co-op spirit means that people do what they feel comfortable doing. What interests you?
Sending an email to your friends, family, co-workers or anyone you think may be interested in becoming a part of the Co-op is one of the best ways to expand awareness of our efforts. Tweak the language on this template to send a personal appeal.
Share the Co-op love on Facebook by joining the Co-op's Facebook page and sharing posts with your own comments. Here are two examples to get you started:
I'm a member-owner of Wasatch Cooperative Market--a locally-owned start-up grocery store with an emphasis on sustainable practice--coming to the Salt Lake area. Help us grow awareness for and the base of support to create a big, beautiful, rewarding place for us to buy local foods! #wc30x30
Post why you love local food and tag #wc30x30 to participate.
This is just one idea. Write your own! And continue to check in as we update information about the "30 New Co-owners in 30 Days" and future campaigns. #wc30x30

Let everyone know you're part of Wasatch Cooperative Market by sharing tweets like this:
Share a Brochure
Download, print, and share our full-color brochure that describes our vision, shows what we've accomplished and upcoming development goals, and includes a member-ownership application.
Post a Flyer
Does your gym, work break room, or local hangout have a community bulletin board? If so, print out and post a copy of our half-page flyer with tear strips.
Prior to our store opening, all the work is being done by volunteers. There are board members, committee chairs and members, volunteers-at-large, photographers, writers, and more. See the complete list of current needs. Then contact our volunteer coordinator to participate. (See link below.)
Getting out into the community for one-on-one conversations about the Co-op is one of the most powerful ways to connect with potential Member-Owners. Tabling--setting up our booth at farmers markets, street fairs, open houses, and conferences to answer questions, share our excitement and hand out brochures, stickers, and information cards--is an awesome way to get involved!
You don't have to have all the answers. Simply sharing why you're involved and why you became a member-owner is a great start. Becoming familiar with our FAQ is a great second step. Email us to volunteer at one of our upcoming events or suggest an event that you think is a good fit for the Co-op.
One of the best ways to spread the word about the Co-op is to host a house party! We make hosting a house party as easy as possible. We provide a kit with brochures, stickers, and promotion cards for your guests, t-shirts, tote bags and more to give to new member-owners who join at the party. If you like, we will arrange for a member of our leadership team to come and speak to your group.
Interested! Here's an invitation template for hosting your own party.
